The National Parks Foundation and adidas are following up the release of their “Joshua Tree” ZX 5000 from the adidas A-ZX Series with three more ZX drops. This collection features silhouettes celebrating Crater Lake, Glacier and Yellowstone National Park.
Starting with Yellowstone, the adidas ZX 8000 features an earth-toned construction. The CORDURA nylon and leather overlaid upper comes in Tech Copper while Linen and brown accents hit throughout. The Three Stripes and laces pop with a lighter blue shade that compliment bright orange panels. More inspiration from the Montana and Idaho park comes in the form of a stitched forest graphic on the tongue. The shoe sits on a yellow and tan midsole with a dark brown outsole complete with a translucent insert.
Next up is the ZX 9000, inspired by Glacier National Park. Standing in a cooler, icy blue palette, the shoe enlists the help of weather resistant CORDURA material. Leather and suede overlays take on various shades of light blue and dark grey, such as on the gonue, lining and heel pull. The sole, medial strap and TPU counter are dipped in Dark Green. The tongue commemorates the national park with a full stamp.
Last in line is the ZX 10000. Similar to the Joshua Tree colorway, this offering commemorates Crater Lake National Park. The color palette draws shades directly from the park in Oregon. Collegiate Navy, Dark Marine and Crystal White serve as the main tones for the upper and overlays. Meanwhile, a slip of salmon serves as a fitting contrast to the blue-heavy silhouette. The national park’s emblem covers the tongue in lieu of adidas branding.
