adidas Originals has teamed up with longtime creative partners Star Wars to present a collection themed specifically around The Mandalorian, the original Disney+ show that follows the titular Mandalorian through his interplanetary adventures with a young, force-sensitive creature known as The Child.
To commemorate the second season’s premiere, the duo have cooked up ten footwear styles: five unisex models, two women’s models, two youth models, and a children’s pair. The collection is lead by the ZX 2K BOOST “Mudhorn,” a BOOST-equipped lifestyle runner inspired by heritage running shoes and the climactic duel between Mando and the Mudhorn seen in Season 1. The Child, also known as Baby Yoda, gets five dedicated sneakers: a unisex pale green Superstar embossed with his silhouette, a multicolored Top Ten high in unisex sizing, a different Top Ten in youth and children’s sizing, and a women’s NMD R1 featuring the phrase “FIND YOUR WAY” on the tongue.
The NMD R1 appears elsewhere in the collection as the canvas for a youth-sized model that features The Mandalorian’s brown, dark red, silver, and black colors, which reflect his signature armor. Similarly, the brown leather women’s Nizza Low and dark brown all-over-print unisex NMD R1 sneakers reflect the Beskar Steel it’s made out of and feature The Armorer (who forges his kit) in a gold badge on the Nizza’s tongue, while the Mandalorian sigil is seen on the NMD’s.
The entire collection is rounded out by an adidas Gazelle themed after the Darksaber, an evil counterpart to the Lightsaber that was seen wielded by Moff Gideon at the end of Season 1. Echoing the blade it’s named after, the shoe reflects silvery light around its jet-black upper through 3M paneling on the shoe’s Three Stripes branding.
