Original Story (09/03/21): Nike will be releasing a footwear collection with a theme of “Familia” (family) and design cues inspired by ancient Aztec civilization. in celebration of the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Following a look at the Dunk Low in this collection, we now have a look at an Air Jordan 1 Mid.

While the Dunk Low had a lizard theme, this Air Jordan 1 Mid appears to draw inspiration from the black jaguar and Aztec jaguar warriors. It comes dressed in black suede on the quarter panels with overlays featuring an embossed jaguar print. The toe box comes in red and is surrounded by small tooth-like embellishments. The Swoosh is embroidered and features a colorful arrow design. The Jordan Wings logo features a similar colorful design. Additional features include an animal glyph on the lateral heel and and “Familia” under the Jumpman on the tongue tag.
