Original Story (06/05/21): While most of Jordan Brand’s releases for 2021 are already penciled into the calendar, it’s time to start looking into the early months of 2022. One thing we can look forward to is the release of a “University Blue” Air Jordan 6.

Sources indicate an Air Jordan 6 dressed in a UNC color scheme is on the way, a tribute to Michael Jordan’s alma mater: the University of North Carolina. White leather makes up most of the upper, save for the hits of University Blue on the toe and quarter panels. Navy accents can be found throughout and translucent icy blue outsoles are found underfoot.

Another detail is the woven tag that appears on the heels, similar to other college-themed colorways such as the AJ5 “Michigan” and AJ5 “Oregon,” which were both based on coveted PE pairs. Player Exclusive versions of the AJ6 “UNC” also exist, including a “Championship” pair and a navy “Alternate” colorway that were gifted to the Tar Heels basketball squad in 2017.

Look for the Air Jordan 6 “University Blue” to arrive sometime early next year in full-family sizing via SNKRS and select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for photos and additional updates.
