Streetwear was born from the subcultures of skate, surf, hip-hop, and graffiti as a rebellion against the status quo. Thanks to capitalism, clout-chasing, and the rise of social media influencers, streetwear is now more mainstream than ever.
Today, Amazon Prime Video shares a first look at Fairfax, a new adult animated comedy series that pokes fun at today’s hype culture. The show is named after and based on Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles’ mecca of streetwear where you can shops brands like Supreme, Aape, and The Hundreds.
Fairfax follows four young teens on their never-ending quest for clout. Dale (Skyler Gisondo), Derica (Kiersey Clemons), Benny (Peter Kim), and Truman (Jaboukie Young-White) navigate copping the latest Latrine drop, upping their IG follower count, and fitting in while standing out. The series is created and executive produced by longtime friends Matthew Hausfater, Aaron Buchsbaum, and Teddy Riley. Artist Somehoodlum, who designed the characters, serves as consulting producer alongside meme streetwear brand Pizzaslime.
All eight episodes of Fairfax Season 1 will premiere on October 29th exclusively on Prime Video. Check out the first-look photos and the full voice cast below.
