London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov’s collabs with ASICS are always a thing of beauty. Throw in LA-based Brain Dead into the mix, and we’re in for a treat. Kiko Kostadinov, Brain Dead, and ASICS Sportstyle have revealed a new three-way collab, and it will be extremely limited.
Based on the concept of “left brain vs. right brain,” the three have created a new model called the GEL-FRATELLI, combining the GEL-NIMBUS 23 sole with design cues from the ASICS LAZERBEAM upper. Each shoe in the pair was designed independently of the other, with Kiko Kostadinov taking on the right shoe and Brain Dead the left. Both feature a black patent leather and mesh base, with the right shoe featuring a solid blue design on the upper and the left shoe a wild green and white speckled pattern. The sole units are also mismatching, the right shoe featuring a black midsole and yellow outsole, the left shoe dressing the tooling in red.
The Brain Dead x Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS GEL-FRATELLI is limited to 120 pairs that will release on Sunday, August 15th online on Kiko Kostadinov’s website (12pm BST) and the Brain Dead website (10am PT). 50 pairs will also release in-store at Brain Dead Studios Fairfax at 12pm PT.
