Mamadou Bah once had dreams of being in the NBA, and while he didn’t make it into the league with his hoops skills, he did it through his fashion design. His clothing label C’est Bon is a favorite among ballers like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Tristan Thompson, and Darius Bazley. Now, he has collaborated with Jordan Brand on his own Air Jordan 35 Low PE, which Bah describes as his “NBA Draft moment.”

The C’est Bon x Air Jordan 35 Low “Dou” PE comes in a color palette inspired by Dou’s West African roots. A cream hue covers most of the upper with shades of green, yellow, and red pulled from the flag of Guinea, Bah’s home country. Bah’s initials appear on the left shoe’s tongue, a Jumpman logo on the right. C’est Bon branding is found on the eyestays and a circular logo is stamped on the lateral heel. The designer’s personal mantra “Only Option” is found on the outsoles and a “Time Is All We Have” message is found on the insoles.

This message also appears on the packaging designed by Larry Tchogninou. The special box is designed to retrace Dou’s journey from West Africa to Detroit at the age of seven. The continents of Africa and North America are engraved on the box and are surrounded by a laser-cut organic pattern.
