The CLOT x Jordan partnership has been going strong since 2018, when the two launched their collaborative Air Jordan 13 Low paying tribute to the Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor of China. Since then, Edison Chen and company have continued to bring Chinese-inspired designs to some of Jordan’s more underappreciated models, including the Air Jordan 1 Mid, Air Jordan 14 Low, and most recently the Air Jordan 5 Low.
For its latest Jumpman collaboration, CLOT brings its “East meets West” design philosophy to the Jordan Delta 2, marking the first time that CLOT and Jordan link up on a model designed specifically for lifestyle. While the Delta 2 is a fairly modern sneaker with its molded rubber mudguard and full-length React foam sole, CLOT has reconfigured the silhouette to give it a more futuristic twist. By deconstructing and removing some of the paneling, the Hong Kong-based label gives the Delta 2 a more sleek and compact look.
CLOT also looks to the past for inspiration, as the design also incorporates various elements of the OG “Flint” Air Jordan 13, a model originally introduced in 1998 and a personal favorite of CLOT founder Edison Chen. “13 is the shoe I probably scored the most baskets in playing basketball,” says Chen. “So, whenever anyone asks me about the Jordan, it’s not the 4 or the 1, but the 13 that I think of because I have a personal connection to it.”
