Shortly after releasing their “Royale University Blue Silk” AF1, CLOT has officially unveiled the follow-up “Black Silk” colorway, created in collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design.
Following in the footsteps of previous CLOT AF1s (Red Silk in 2009, White Silk in 2018), the ‘Black Silk’ AF1 features a black silk upper adorned with a traditional Chinese pattern, which symbolizes luck and prosperity. As in previous versions, the silk upper can be cut or burnt off to reveal a second layer underneath. The second layer comes in a red leather, adorned with fragment design’s thunderbolt motif as well as additional traditional Chinese imagery. A white midsole, gum rubber outsole, and red co-branded insoles complete the design.
The ‘Black Silk’ Air Force 1 is expected to release on Black Friday, which lands on November 29, for a retail price of $250 USD. Check out the photos below.

Update (11/21/19): CLOT’s Edison Chen has shared a photo of what the AF1 ‘Black Silk’ looks like with the black silk layer removed. He also mentions a secret inaugural release in Tokyo on November 22nd, with a Juice Store release the following week. Stay tuned for additional details.
