As all the possibilities for 2022 peak through the horizon, CLOT and Levi’s unveil a collaborative Chinese New Year-themed capsule. The collection draws on the East-Meets-West philosophy that CLOT is built on.
As this year marks the Year of the Tiger, CLOT applies a light blue color scheme and an all-over tiger stripe pattern to Levi’s classic denim silhouettes. Two Type II Trucker jackets, a men’s 551z cropped jean, and a high-waisted midi skirt comprise the capsule. The women’s jacket comes slightly cropped and features CLOT’s traditional Chinese button knots.
More details include co-branded shank buttons and double-layered patches. In true Levi’s fashion, the pieces can undergo any personal DIY treatment. The midi skirt, for example, is purposely long so that the wear can scissor it down into shorter lengths if desired.
“Instead of making a short skirt we wanted to make a longer version of it. DIY is a huge component to fashion nowadays, and being able to start long and go short is something I thought was more interesting,” says CLOT founder Edison Chen. “People buy vintage denim all day, but it’s about how you keep your piece fresh with yourself.”
The CLOT x Levi’s “Year of the Tiger” collection drops on January 14th at JUICE STORE locations and the JUICE STORE website.
