COMME des GARÇONS has been killing Paris Fashion Week. Following a reveal of the CDG HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Foamposite One and the CDG SHIRT x KAWS collection, we now dive into what the label has cooking up with New Balance for Fall/Winter 2021.
First up is the 57/40 made in collaboration with CDG HOMME. The model, recently debuted in a couple of multicolored launch colorways, now comes dressed in all black. It features a weather resistant construction, with nylon ripstop serving as the base and suede equipped with GORE-TEX used for the overlays. The tongue tag adds a touch of contrasting white, which reads “CdGH” and the model name.
A second CDG x NB collaboration also surfaced, this one with the eYe COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN sub-label on the 574 model. This version features a slightly higher cut than the traditional 574 and features fleece lining inside the shoe. “eYe” branding is found debossed on the heel. Three colorways of this shoe have been revealed, one white/beige colorway with leather/suede construction plus two all-leather colorways in black and white.
The CDG HOMME x New Balance 57/40 and eYe CDG JUNYA WATANABE MAN New Balance 574 are both slated to drop sometime in October 2021, most likely via Dover Street Market and other select retailers. Grab a first look at both models below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on their release.
