Crushed DC x Nike SB Dunk Low “Golden Hour” Release Date

0

Following the release of the KCDC x Nike SB Dunk High, the next skate shop to get its own Nike SB Dunk collab is Crushed Skate Shop from Washington, DC.

Though Crushed only began operations in early 2020, it is important to the DC skateboarding community as it is the only skate shop located in the country’s capital. Crushed occupies the same space as two of its predecessors, art and skate shop Art Under Pressure (AUP) and the skate shop Bureau. Brian Aguilar, the owner of Crushed, actually was employed by AUP and Bureau before creating his own venture.

The Crushed x Nike SB Dunk Low “Golden Hour” is inspired by popular DC skate spot Freedom Plaza (aka Pulaski Park) and how the sun reflects off its ledges as it sets. It features a light beige leather upper paired with dusty brown suede overlays. The orange Swoosh features a sort-of marbled effect, while the matching orange outsole is decked out in Nike Grind speckles. Additional pops of orange are found on the sockliners and lips of the tongue. Additional details include a subtle checkered tile pattern on the tongue, lime green on the inside of the tongue, Crushed branding on the tongue tags, and custom graffiti insole art. Lastly, the faux-upcycled lace tip design is a nod to Aguilar’s hobby of bringing new life to broken (crushed) decks in his wood shop.

Grab a first look at the Crushed Skate Shop x Nike SB Dunk Low below. Expect these to release later this year via Crushed and other local skate shops. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
