New York-based artist Daniel Arsham is continuing his Crystalized Pokémon sculpture series with the release of Crystalized Squirtle. This is the third entry in the series made available to the public, following the releases of the Pikachu and Charmander editions.
Arsham reinterprets the water starter Pokémon Squirtle in his signature “Future Relic” style, imagined as frozen in time and rediscovered 1000 years in the future. The sculpture is made of white cast resin and features “abrasions” throughout to reveal crystalline structures underneath its surface. Crystalized Squirtle is 30cm tall, weighs 6.9 kg, and is limited to 500 units.
The Daniel Arsham x Pokémon Crystalized Squirtle drops this Friday, July 29th at 12pm ET on the Daniel Arsham website. Those who miss out on the drop can likely find the collectable on StockX after the release.
