Chicago creative, poet, and member of the Fat Tiger Workshop family Eddie Oppong has created his own unique rendition of the iconic Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor 70.
Dressed in a striking, bold zebra print, these shoes come equipped with custom reworked Converse logo pins that read “Eddie 4 Converse.” Along with the zebra print, there is also an orange tongue and orange stripe on the heel, hence the shoe’s name, “Zebra Spills Orange Soda.” The shoe is part of a larger collection that includes a tote bag with the same slogan, “Eddie 4 Converse” along with a heart rocking the signature Chuck Taylors.
The design of the shoe tells the story of Eddie’s journey, being a dialysis patient for the past 7+ years as he awaits a kidney transplant. A zebra’s stripes indicates strength, so this is Eddie sharing his strengths with everyone, and spilling orange soda in celebration.
The full collection releases Friday, July 24th at 10AM CT on EDDIE4CONVERSE.com.
