Original Story (11/20/20): Dior Homme Creative Director Kim Jones is continuing his run of Nike collaborations with his own take on the Air Max 95 in “Total Orange” and “Volt” colorways. Reports of this collaboration surfaced earlier this year, which later then evolved into rumors of a Dior x Nike Air Max 95 collab. Official imagery of the “Total Orange” colorway has surfaced, confirming that this is indeed a Kim Jones collab and not a Dior collab.
This “Total Orange” colorway of the Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 features a black base with dark grey side panels, of which are covered in dashes and dots that resemble Morse code. The eyelets are configured differently than your typical AM95s, having two ends that connect to the side panels instead of the one with a loop for the lace. The mudguard comes in white (possibly reflective) and features a black mini Swoosh on the toe and Kim Jones branding near the heel. The clear outsoles reveals large Nike Air branding near the toe, with the initials “KJ” spliced into the middle of the Swoosh. A light amount of colorful speckles also dress the sole.

Update (03/11/21): Nike has officially announced the release of the Kim Jones Air Max 95:
With the special-edition design, the Air Max 95 bridges eras of tech and aesthetic with a toe cap mini-Swoosh and a perforated upper inspired by the Air Max 360. Original Air Max 95 colors, including Total Orange and Volt, pop against an inverted gradient to offer a new twist to a nostalgia-inducing scheme. The shoe’s eyestays highlight a contemporary, translucent, stretch-woven material, Nexkin, made popular in recent icons such as the Zoom Fly SP and React Element 87.
A connected apparel collection honors Jones’ long-term interest in the eye-catching appeal of Max Air. With bold, brash wordmarks and a mix of neutral and neon colors, the designer says the garments “carry an over-scaling of the logo to create something that is as energetic as the shoe itself.”
The Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 capsule releases March 19 on SNKRS and at select retailers. The Volt Air Max 95 and High Voltage apparel release exclusively in the United Kingdom, while the Total Orange Air Max 95 and remaining apparel will be available globally.
Update (03/10/21): Official images of the Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 in both “Total Orange” and “Volt” colorways have arrived. Japanese retailer atmos is currently listing a March 19th release date for the “Total Orange” pair, though both are expected to arrive soon sometime this month. Update (12/03/20): Kim Jones has taken to social media to reveal both colorways of his upcoming Air Max 95. No exact release info just yet, but the designer confirms that both pairs are “coming soon.”
