The cats over at Kith have taken things all the way back to 1996, and this clever capsule collection sees the New York brand pumping out pieces that, per their words, are what Kith would have released had they been around in 1996. The reverse-retro-ing has them taking cues from other 90’s brands, artists and pop culture, and the results are impressive.
Starting off the collection are two Golden Bear varsity jackets ($400 USD), with leather sleeves on the burgundy colorway and calf nubuck sleeves on the orange. All the ribbing on both jackets are custom Navajo knits. The New York Native Washington Hooded Rugby ($125 USD) features tough fleece protection with a stitched in Indian head embroidery, a theme throughout the collection, along with Kith sport logo embroidery on the opposite arm. Bold New York Native applique is added to the front of each along with 1996 on the back. The New York Native Jefferson Striped Button-down shirt ($100 USD) is made with a medium weight cotton for durability. Sublimated print makes up the front while brown marbled buttons finish off the look. The Stanton Sweatpant ($88 USD) is an item that’s been in the works for quite sometime. Now perfected, the pant uses a heavy weight fleece fabric with a tapered slim fit and a drawstring waist for adjustment. Logo NYN Crewnecks ($95 USD) arrive with a comfortable fleece featuring the New York Native Indian print logo on the front and 1996 on the back. Key details include raglan sleeves and ribbed side gussets. Wrapping up the collection are three New York Native Starter snapbacks ($45 USD), two with matching New York Native branding on the crown in raised embroidery and with the third using the Indian logo motif.
The collection will be made available at Kith NYC and their website on December 14th, so be sure to make that move as these are going to sell like hotcakes. For more on Kith and other brands stay tuned to our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
