Independent film and music production company Bat In The Sun has created a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers-inspired film Legend of the White Dragon. Jason David Frank will star as the White Dragon, a nod to his role as the White Ranger, as well as his dragon mascot from his stint as the Green Ranger in the MMPR TV series.

While the film is not an official tie-in to the Power Rangers franchise, there are many references to Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which ran from 1993 to 1995. Starring alongside Jason David Frank is Johnny Yong Bosch, who played the second Black Power Ranger. The film takes place in the fictional city of Angel Graves, a nod to the town of Angel Grove from the Power Rangers universe. Several other Power Rangers alumni also play roles in the film: Ciara Hanna (Power Rangers Megaforce), Chrysti Ane (Power Rangers Ninja Steel), and Yoshi Sudarso (Power Rangers Dino Charge).
