Original Story (07/21/22): While Luka Dončić has his own signature shoe on the way, the Jordan Luka 1, that doesn’t mean that he won’t continue to get his own colorways of other Air Jordan models. Jordan Brand is releasing an “El Matador” Air Jordan 36 inspired by one of the Mavs superstar’s nicknames.
Dončić was given the nickname “El Matador” by a Mavericks assistant coach for his ability to dodge opponents and his time playing for Spain’s Real Madrid Baloncesto team as a teen. The Air Jordan 36 “El Matador” features an a red upper with ornate gold detailing, inspired by the capes and attires of traditional Spanish bullfighters. Luka was spotted rocking a similar Air Jordan 11 Low IE colorway in the tunnel during the 2022 NBA playoffs, though that pair is expected to remain a Player Exclusive.
