Maybe Tomorrow & Saucony Unveil “Tortoise” & “Hare” Collabs

Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Maybe Tomorrow is dropping its first-ever sneaker, teaming up with Saucony on a “Better Together” capsule inspired by a classic children’s tale.

Based on one of Aesop’s Fables, “The Tortoise and the Hare,” the capsule includes two sneakers: a “Tortoise” 3D Grid Hurricane and a “Hare” Shadow 6000. The “Tortoise” marks the first collab on the 3D Grid Hurricane since its re-introduction this past June, dressed in green with orange accents and brown pebbled leather detailing at the heel and toe to resemble a shell. Some other neat features are the custom tortoise print on the outsoles and the glow-in-the-dark details throughout the upper.

The “Hare” Shadow 6000 features perforated leather, hairy suede, and nubuck construction and comes in a white and grey color scheme. The laces and a Saucony logo are fuzzy, made to evoke the feeling of rabbit’s fur. Both pairs feature custom graphics on the insoles that match the artwork of their respective shoe boxes.

“I wanted to create a world where running with one another was better than competing against each other,” says Maybe Tomorrow co-founder Mark Nguyen. “We took the classic story and rewrote it to where the 2 characters come to the realization that they are ‘better together’, which my partner Ryan and I identified with. We found this story was the most metaphorical way to represent not just Saucony as a running brand, but the way we, as Maybe Tomorrow, came together as well.”

The Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony “Better Together” capsule launches exclusively at ComplexCon 2022 in Long Beach on November 19th at 20th. Though yet to be confirmed, expect a wider release to follow on the Maybe Tomorrow and Saucony websites. Check out both pairs below.
