Original Story (04/01/22): Following a sneak peek at the collection’s New Balance 2002R, Joe Freshgoods has now unveiled the New Balance 550 that will be releasing as part of the “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign.
New Balance’s “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign is led by Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods and was created as a way to tell the story of the Black experience. Each of the products in the accompanying collection are designed by Black Soles, a team of all-Black New Balance associates. The 550 in the collection features an off-white canvas construction with grey suede around the heel. There are also yellowed accents throughout the upper, matching the yellowed sole unit. “Conversations Amongst Us” branding is found on the insoles and tongue tags.
