New Balance introduces a fresh and modern interpretation of the classic 574 series in two colorways as we enter 2021.
After three decades, the 574 model remains one of New Balance’s most iconic sneakers. The New Balance 57/40 moves the classic 574 lines, giving the shoe’s original roots a modern twist. The classic N symbol is enlarged and a ‘The Intelligent Choice’ label is added to the tongue. A mix of leather, suede, and mesh with bold color blocking on the reimagined CR device against a neutral background emphasizes the ’80s meets ’90s aesthetic. The sole unit is made up of two midsoles stacked, preserving the traditional 574 midsoles with the addition of a ’90s heritage-inspired wider, wavy design. The off-road outsole pays tribute to the trail heritage 574s.
The New Balance 57/40 releases globally for a limited release on newbalance.com beginning January 9th for a suggested retail price of $120. Additional styles are to be released throughout 2021 in a variety of materials and colorways. Check out the official images of the drop below.
