Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard debuted the New Balance KAWHI in a new “Neo Flame” colorway this weekend during the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.
Dressed in a vibrant pink and red color scheme, the pair shares a close resemblance to the Valentine’s Day 57/40 that dropped earlier this year; the main reason being that both pairs were prepared for a drop surrounding Valentine’s Day. However, due to the pandemic pushing the NBA All-Star festivities to March, the KAWHI “Neo Flame” release date was pushed back as well. Kawhi’s love for the game of basketball combines with All-Star Weekend’s pre-pandemic February schedule to create details nodding to both aspects. On the tongue, we see the original New Balance “The Intelligent Choice” slogan replaced with “The Romantic Choice” and a red embroidered “KAWHI” underneath, while a small red heart on the tongue completes the spirited pair.
