New Pokémon Snap Coming to the Nintendo Switch

This morning, Pokémon unveiled a new game for the Nintendo Switch, New Pokémon Snap. This title is an all-new adventure inspired by the classic Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap that initially released in 1999. Here’s the official statement from Pokémon:

“The New Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo Switch system is based on its namesake, which was first released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999. This game will take Trainers on an adventure to unknown islands overflowing with natural sights such as jungles and beaches, where they can research various Pokémon in their natural habitats. They will take photos to make their very own in-game Pokémon Photodex, all while discovering new, never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and behaviors.”

The news came as part of the company’s “Pokémon Presents” news conference, which also included the unveiling of other projects, one of those being Pokémon Smile, a new tooth brushing app that is now available for iOS and Android…

…and Pokémon Café Mix, a free-to-play game coming to the Nintendo Switch on June 24th. Another piece of news that came from the conference was the unveiling of “The Isle of Armor,” the first expansion pack for Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Release info for New Pokémon Snap has yet to be revealed. Check out screenshots from the upcoming game below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on its release.
