Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. has signed a long-term partnership with PUMA. This comes after Neymar severed ties with Nike, the brand that signed the player a decade and a half ago as a 13-year-old prodigy.
As one of the most successful athletes of his generation, Neymar will wear PUMA’s legendary King football boot on the pitch. He will also be a brand ambassador off-pitch, wearing PUMA’s most important lifestyle, training, and sport-inspired footwear and apparel products.
Neymar took to Twitter to share a letter in his own words to announce the partnership. In it, he references Pelé, Cruyff, Eusebio, and Maradona, all of whom wore PUMA during their illustrious careers. Neymar wishes to honor those legends through the PUMA King and create his own legacy in the process.
A Neymar x PUMA tee is currently available for pre-order on the PUMA website with a baseball cap listed as coming soon. See Neymar’s announcement post below, as well as additional photos released to mark this new partnership.
