Original Story (03/01/22): With it being the Air Max 1’s 35th anniversary this year, Nike is sure to have some special releases on the way (besides the Concepts collab). One of these has just been revealed, the Air Max 1 “La Ville Lumière” for Air Max Day 2022.
This Air Max 1 features white mesh and leather construction on the upper, paired with an iridescent overlay. This shiny detail nods to La Ville Lumiére, a French nickname for Paris that translates to “the city of light.” The shoe comes with “La Ville Lumière” and “Printemps 2022” (Spring 2022) stamped onto the outsoles, and is also found on the box, wrapping paper, and through the translucent outsoles. We also see “3.26” branding throughout that nods to Air Max Day, most prominently on the tags of the black tongues. These shoes also come with a silver chain hangtag with pendants that include a Swoosh, “3.26,” and a mini Air Max 1 shoe.
