The 35th anniversary celebration of the Air Max 1 kicked off this year with a Concepts collab and three region-exclusive Air Max Day drops, though the festivities have just begun. On the horizon is the release of a new “Safari Cobblestone” colorway.
This Air Max 1 features a design that mirrors the classic atmos Air Max 1 “Safari” from 2002. Textured “Safari” print dresses the mudguard and ankle area, while other details such as the mini Swoosh on toe and the textless Swoosh branding on the heel also make their return. Materials and colors, however, have been updated. The toe box now comes in a Cobblestone beige suede. The Swoosh is blue and has an animal skin-line texture. The heel panel also appears to be made of a felt-like textile.
