Nike continues to imagine new possibilities for its Air technology in its Air Max series. In similar fashion to the Air Max Pre-Day, the new Air Max 2021’s design is stripped down to draw your eye’s to the new Air unit.

The goal of the Air Max 2021 is to provide a new underfoot sensation that meets the different needs of adults and kids. To do this, Nike created an amorphous Air unit with its shape informed by the company’s foot pressure map data across adults and kids subsets. The lower pressure in the center of the Air unit (7 PSI in both adults and kids sizes) creates a softer underfoot feel, while the outer ring of the Air unit is more pressurized to provide a stable ride (20 PSI in adults, 15 PSI in GS sizing).

In line with Nike’s Move To Zero sustainability goals, the shoe features at least 20% recycled content by weight in its construction. Breaking it down: the vamp is made of 36% recycled polyester, the eyestays and synthetic leather overlays feature 28% recycled polyester, there’s 80% recycled polyester in the strobel, 74% recycled TPU in the Air unit, and the outsole comes with 13% recycled Nike Grind material.

The Nike Air Max 2021 is available now in the “Venice” colorway for women and the “Ghost” colorway in men’s, GS, PS, and toddler sizes. You can purchase them on Nike.com, the Nike app, and select retailers.
