In 2003, Nike released a Japanese-inspired series of sneakers called the “Shima Shima” pack, featuring three colorways of the Air Trainer 1, three Dunk Highs, and two Air Max 1s. It has been revealed that at least one of the shoes from this series will soon be making its return.
Nike is bringing back the brown “Hay” colorway of the Air Trainer 1 from this pack, also known as the “Shima 2” as it was the second colorway to release in this series. It features a light brown suede upper with dark brown used for the forefoot strap, leather Swoosh, and tongue tag. Defining features from the “Shima Shima” pack make their return, including the pinstripe pattern on the sockliner, “Shima Shima” branding on the tongue tags in red Hiragana characters, and speckled midsoles.
