Nike Revives ’80s Bedouin With the Eco-Friendly BE-DO-WIN

0

A mostly forgotten Nike silhouette from the early ’80s is getting a modern day revamp with sustainable design in mind. Pulling inspiration from the Nike Bedouin, the Swoosh now introduces the BE-DO-WIN.

The Nike Bedouin was a moc-toe style shoe with a full-grain leather that was intended for more casual wear, though it still incorporated Nike’s running technologies of the era such as Nike Air and an Octowaffle pattern outsole. Four decades later, the model is back as the BE-DO-WIN, a name that is short for “BE conscious of climate change, DO take action against climate change, and WIN the battle to prevent climate change.” The BE-DO-WIN incorporates recycled material in its construction with a synthetic upper and cork insoles. The heels are accented with colorful BE-DO-WIN logo embroidery, while the sole units feature an organic look. The BE-DO-WIN makes its debut with an “Around The World” colorway in black with red stitching and a multi-colored “Hyper Royal” colorway.

The Nike BE-DO-WIN launches on October 3rd in Japan and October 14th in Europe via SNKRS and select retailers. Stay tuned for US release info.
