Original Story (11/20/20): A wild new colorway of the Nike Dunk Low has surfaced that appears to be inspired by bags of rice.
Each panel on this upcoming Dunk Low appears to draw inspiration from packaging of different brands of rice, though replaced with Nike-themed branding. The yellow heel panels, for example, is a play on a Sri Lankan brand of rice called Nipuna.
The panels also feature construction that mimics woven and burlap sacks of rice. Other features include a zipper tongue pouch and nutritional facts-style tongue tag. First look images of the shoe also show grocery bag-inspired wrapping paper that reads “Thank You For Caring!,” a message that is also found on the insoles.
This upcoming Nike Dunk Low SP colorway is expected to arrive sometime in January 2021. Grab a first look below and let us know if you recognize any of the other brands that inspired this colorway.

Update (02/18/21): Nike has announced the release of this upcoming Dunk Low, officially called “City Market.”
Its design is inspired by durable materials and their role in Nike’s heritage. Graphics nod to the brand’s Blue Ribbon Sports roots, as well as industrial rice and coffee bags that are frequently upcycled from urban markets for a wide range of uses. On the tongue, a small, zippered compartment nods to reusable grocery storage, with its accompanying tag reimagined to resemble a nutrition facts label. Finally, an accompanying grocery bag pays its respects with a simple commendation: “Thank You For Caring!”
The Nike Dunk Low “City Market” launches on March 4th via Nike SNKRS for a retail price of $110 USD. Check out official images below:
