Travis Scott, Drake & More Celebrate Nike JDI Day 2022

Nike’s JDI (Just Do It) Day was inaugurated in 2018 on the 30th anniversary of the brand’s iconic “Just Do It” campaign. The company holiday was created to celebrate Nike employees by bringing them together for a day of sport with special events at Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon and at Nike locations across the globe.

After two years of pause due to the pandemic, JDI Day returned in 2022, just in time for Nike’s 50th anniversary celebration. Many Nike athletes and collaborators gathered at WHQ on Thursday for the event, from Nike SB skaters such as Eric Koston and Rayssa Leal, to NBA stars such as Carmelo Anthony and Jayson Tatum, to hip-hop superstars including Travis Scott and Drake.

The festivities culminated with the 2022 Nike Maxim Awards Show, hosted by Drake and featuring a live performance by Travis Scott. The award show is meant to recognize the best of NIKE, Inc. — the teams and projects that best reflect Nike’s values and move the business, brand, and purpose forward.

The stars used JDI Day as an excuse to rock some serious heat on feet. Prior to his performance, Travis Scott partook in a game of kickball, rocking an unreleased colorway of the Cactus Jack x Air Jordan 1 Low. Drake was seen wearing a never-before-seen red colorway of his Zoom Flight 95-esque NOCTA shoe. Russell Westbrook took to the red carpet in the Nu Retro Jordan 1 Low, pretty much confirming our report of its return.
