Original Story (01/27/20): It’s a solemn day at MN as we are still in shock following yesterday’s tragic news of Kobe Bryant’s passing. Kobe was one of the greatest athletes of his generation. His accolades included five championships, 15 All-Star Game appearances, four All-Star Game MVP Awards, two NBA Finals MVP Awards and a single regular-season MVP Award.
Nike was set to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Kobe’s fifth championship with the return of the 2010 “Big Stage” Kobe 5, this time in Protro form. This release combines both the original Home colorway in white and the Away colorway in black into one pair. Tattoo-style detailing on the upper feature notable achievements from Kobe’s 2009-2010 season.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Big Stage” was scheduled to release on February 7th, but was removed from Nike/SNKRS shortly after the news broke out of Kobe’s passing. We’ll keep you updated on what ends up happening with this release. Mamba forever.
