Complete Look at the Upcoming Nike SB “Sashiko Pack”

As we move closer to the debut of Olympic-level skateboarding at the Tokyo Summer Games 2020 (now re-scheduled to 2021), more Japanese-inspired products from Nike’s skateboarding division are being unveiled. There was the 7-Eleven Dunk, which was supposed to drop in Tokyo but has since been cancelled. There’s also the upcoming collaboration with Instant Skateboards, a local skate shop with multiple locations in Japan.

The “Sashiko” pack is the latest upcoming Japanese-inspired release from Nike SB to be revealed. Sashiko, which literally translates to “little stabs,” is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching that originated in Japan around 400 years ago. Official images have surfaced of a Blazer Mid in this collection, which comes dressed in sesame and features DIY-style navy paneling covered in Sashiko-style stitching.

The collection will also feature another Blazer Mid, this one dressed primarily in navy, as well as a Janoski and a Dunk Low. The Dunk Low, which previously leaked, will unfortunately not release in the US and will most likely be Japan-exclusive. Check out official images of the Nike SB Blazer Mid “Sashiko Sesame” below and stay tuned for updates on this collection. As of now, an August release is expected.

Update (07/22/20): Following the reveal of the “Sashiko Sesame” Blazer Mid, we now have a look at the full Nike SB “Sashiko” footwear collection, as well as some accompanying apparel. Check them out below.
