Nike Reveals its Summer 2021 “Move To Zero” Footwear Lineup

Nike’s sustainably-made Move To Zero Footwear lineup has gained great popularity over the course of various releases, from the Air VaporMax 2020 to the Cosmic Unity. Continuing on the road to carbon neutrality, the Swoosh has revealed a summertime lineup that includes the Air Vapormax 2021, a “Plant Cork” Pack by their Sportswear division, as well as a handful of performance models.

The Air Vapormax 2021 headlines the lineup as one of Nike’s most sustainable shoes to date, made with at least 55 percent recycled content by weight. The pair features a full-length VaporMax Nike Air unit from heel to toe, TPU on the heel clip, and a toe tip containing 60 percent recycled materials reflecting a sustainability-first approach. The outsoles incorporate Nike Grind, while elements of the Air Max Pre-Day and Genome have been borrowed and modified.

The Nike Air Force 1, Blazer, and Daybreak have all been redesigned and are now made with about 20 percent recycled content for the lineup’s “Plant Cork” Pack. Revealed in part earlier this year, the pack features shoes made with Recycled Poly Canvas and other textiles, while each outsole is infused with 9 percent recycled cork, partially sourced from the wine industry. The immersion of cork within rubber outsoles creates a natural look and feel while lowering overall impact.

The Nike Crater Impact is an all-new silhouette based on the learnings of Space Hippie. Constructed of 25 percent recycled material by weight, the pair continues to lower its carbon footprint through efficient overlays, stitched curves, and an embroidered Swoosh to help further avoid waste. The pair’s soft Crater Foam midsole combines 10 percent Nike Grind with a blend of foams for stability and visual identity.

Finally, we can look forward to more colorways of the Cosmic Unity, Nike’s first performance shoe made with at least 25 percent recycled material by weight. Durability and responsiveness are guaranteed with the pair’s 10 percent Nike Grind Crater Foam midsole. Sustainably-made iterations of the Air Zoom SuperRep 2 Next Nature and Nike Victory G Lite finish off the lineup.

Look out for all of these models to release throughout Summer 2021 via Nike.com and select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more updates as they are announced.
