Berlin boutique Overkill connects with adidas to for the latest installment of the adidas A-ZX series. Coming together for the letter “O” in the alphabet-themed series, the two have created a special edition ZX 8500, fusing together adidas’ ZX 8000 and ZX 9000 models.

Overkill’s graffiti roots are emphasized in the collaboration’s design. An array of neon colors combine on the upper like Montana Gold spray cans while the mudguard has a concrete appearance. The two combine for the theme of paint on concrete that Overkill resonates with in Berlin.

A combination of mesh and suede make up the colorful upper. The mudguard connects to the toe box with a stitched Overkill logo that overlaps the seam between the pieces. Bright ZX 8500 embroidery rests above the Three-Stripes logo and dual branding hits the lateral and medial heel. On the back of the heel the Overkill logo is combined with the traditional flammable warning graphic in black and red. Hits of 3M throughout the shoe call back to Berlin’s Chrome Bomber history. Additionally, the shoe comes with a black shroud that covers the upper. Designed to protect the shoe from paint, it continues the practical graffiti theme.

The shoe releases alongside a t-shirt that is included with purchase. Berlin graffiti crew 1UP was tapped in for the design of the tee and some boxes will feature art from the crew that were painted in the video below. Overkill also linked with puzzle maker Ravensburger to include a paint by numbers seen that is included with the first 1500 orders. Finally, Overkill worked with Atmos Japan to design a limited shirt for the capsule that will release exclusively on the Overkill and Atmos websites.
