Last September, adidas Originals launched a new NMD model called the NMD_S1. Pharrell Williams, who worked with adidas on the silhouette’s design, and his Humanrace label are now gearing up to launch his own boot-like version of the model, dubbed the adidas HU NMD S1 RYAT.
A black colorway was previewed by Pharrell a few days ago, though we now have some close-up on-feet photos. The sole unit on the RYAT appears to be the exact same as the standard NMD_S1, though the upper has been completely redesigned with a more utilitarian approach. Thick suede on the toe and ballistic mesh on the side panels and tongues replace the Primeknit construction, while leather is used on the ankle and sockliner. Other added details include a thick foxing/mudguard wrapped around the shoe and TPU top and bottom eyelet overlays. This black colorway includes a few pops of color: cyan accents on the rear quarter underlays, hairy grey suede on the heels, and red orange heel pull tabs.
