Following the announcement of the truly bonkers Reebok “Minions: The Rise of Gru” collection, the Boston-based brand has released a short film that features an interview with Chris Hill, a veteran Reebok designer and toy collector who was responsible for the design choices in the collection.
In the video, Hill goes into detail describing the Vicious Six Instapumps and the Gru’s Laboratory Question Mids, two of the craziest shoes in the collection, as well as some of the release’s more laid-back offerings. Hill’s passion for toy collecting shines through in both the interview as well as the shoes’ designs; while Minions fans will certainly be impressed by the offerings, Hill’s designs transcend the playful language of a movie designed for kids and cement themselves as instant streetwear icons.
