Official Look at the sacai ACRONYM® Collection

Chitose Abe’s sacai label is having a tremendous year full of collaborations with the likes of KAWS, Jean Paul Gaultier, and APC, just to name a few. The collaborations keep coming in 2022, as a collaborative collection with Errolson Hugh’s ACRONYM® label has just been unveiled.

The collaboration was unveiled as part of the sacai men’s Spring/Summer 2022, women’s Pre-Spring 2022 collection, which according to the brand is a riffing on the theme of bonding, both as a metaphor for unity and as a technique for joining together two materials. The collection is “a study on sealing together two apparently disparate notions to make a new form, bringing together characteristics born of different, sometimes opposing, origins.”

The collaboration with ACRONYM® is the ultimate expression of this idea of bonding, combining Errolson Hugh’s signature technical details with sacai fabrics and shapes for men and women, and, for the first time for ACRONYM®, a dress silhouette. “Having known Chitose, and of course sacai, for many years, this collaboration is the ideal kind of cross-pollination,” says Hugh. “And as I believe you can see from the results, it’s a true blend of the philosophies of both brands, where the sum is greater than the parts.”

The sacai ACRONYM® collection launches January 2022 on the sacai webstore, acrnm.com, and select retailers.
