The North Face Revives the Legendary Steep Tech Collection

0

The North Face is set to revive the legendary Steep Tech collection, an ultra-high performance outerwear line designed by extreme skier Scott Schmidt that has been beloved by enthusiasts and highly sought-after by collectors since its original 1991 release.

The 2020 iteration of the collection will be lead by the Apogee Jacket, the line’s most recognizable icon, which is lauded by many as incorporating the ultra-functional ethos of techwear long before the term even existed. In fact, many of the design cues seen on the Apogee can be found on ACRONYM’s current products; dual zippers, chest bib pockets, and more all grace the face of the shell. The jacket is also just one part of the Steep Tech product ecosystem, which allows various garments to interlock and strap to one another for a precision-tooled, customized layering experience.

The collection will also include an Apogee vest, a down fill jacket, multiple fleeces, a longsleeve, and various accessories to round out the release. The garments are set to come in both a highlighter yellow colorway and a jet black, so you’re covered regardless of what your wardrobe is going for.

The North Face Steep Tech 2020 collection is set to release on October 24th via select retailers like Bodega, Kith, Urban Outfitters, and more. You can check out lookbook and product photos from the collection down below.
