In the days following the news that the deal between Kobe Bryant and Nike has expired and will not be renewed, Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram to share that there will only be two more Nike Kobe sneaker drops (wearing the Kobe VI Protro “POP” in the process). If this is true, that makes the UNDEFEATED x Nike Kobe V Protro “Hall of Fame” one of the two as the LA-based sneaker boutique has announced its release.
This “Hall of Fame” colorway was first revealed last year alongside UNDEFEATED’s “What If?” Pack, dressed primarily in Metallic Gold with purple used for the sockliner, outsole, and the branding on the tongue. It’s gradient Swoosh is primarily red, fading to purple towards the back. On the tongue are the numbers 24, 10, and 8, the numbers that Kobe wore during his illustrious NBA career, as well as the number he wore in the Olympics while playing for Team USA. Mismatching Kobe and Undefeated branding appears on the tongue and heel.
Michael Jordan will present Kobe Bryant into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame at the induction ceremony on May 15th. The UNDEFEATED x Nike Kobe V Protro “Hall of Fame” will release via UNDEFEATED a few days earlier on May 12th.
