After dropping a botanical GT-II collab with ASICS, Australia’s Up There boutique presents its first collaboration with New Balance, the 2002R “Backyard Legends.”
The 2002R “Backyard Legends” was designed for the everyday athlete to do everyday things. While we may not always be chasing personal bests, it takes a bit athleticism to take out the trash or mow the lawn. Inspired by a laid-back Australian lifestyle, these are the shoes you bust out to cross some chores off the to-do list.
The shoe features a white loose mesh upper paired with forest green suede overlays and hits of purple on the toe box and heel. AUS appears on the tongues as a nod to Up There’s motherland, while removable Up There-branded shrouds keep your laces clean while performing everyday tasks. Additional features include ’00s-style crinkle-cut laces, futuristic 2002R branding on the toe, reflective detailing, custom insoles, and powder blue accents. The diamond pattern on the tongue and custom N logo pay homage to the 990v3.
