Sometimes with shoe photos, the saturation and lighting make the colors of shoes appear different then what they actually are. Early retailer photos of an upcoming Dunk High, for example, made the shoe look like a “University Blue” colorway. It has since been revealed that the color for these is actually “Aluminum.”
Nike has used this “Aluminum” hue in the past such as on the LeBron 12 “Easter” and the VaporMax Flyknit 2. On those releases, the color appeared to be more of a pastel purple than a light blue. The upcoming Women’s Dunk High uses this shade for its overlays and outsole, while white leather dresses the base.
Even the official images of this Dunk High that were uploaded by Nike are a bit deceiving, as they show a much bluer shade than some of the in-hand photos that have popped up so far.
